Researchers’ Honors: Dr.
Elizabeth Yan-Ting Shiu received a United Engineering Foundation Conference
Fellowship for New Professionals to attend the Integrating Material Science into
Engineering Structures and Devices conference in Lake Arrowhead, Ca in November
2001. The purpose of the UEF's Conference Fellowship Program is to allow new
professionals, who could not otherwise do so, to participate in an UEF
Conference. These conferences are typically intense, interdisciplinary,
international, state-of-the-art meetings. Peter Ying-Xiao Wang received a student award from the Biomedical Engineering Society for outstanding biomedical engineering research and/or design projects. The award consists of a certificate, a stipend of $600, registration for the BMES Annual Fall Meeting, and travel expenses up to $400. Sameer Shah – named a finalist for the 2001 Journal of Biomechanics Award at the American Society of Biomechanics Meeting in August 2001. |
